Pub quizzes in The Hague
Do you like to test your knowledge with trivia? The Hague is the perfect city for pub quizzes! Here are some of my favourite venues in the city:
If you are a beer drinker, chances are you have already been to the Fiddler Pub in The Hague. With over 200 special beers, this brewery is the perfect place to grab some drinks and watch a football match. It is also a great venue to gather a group of friends and compete in a trivia night. On select Tuesdays of the month, Fiddlers hosts pub quiz evenings. From 20:30 onwards, everyone is welcome to participate in the quiz either by coming along with a team or joining individually. To partake in the quiz, every team member is requested to pay a €2,00 fee, which also covers your raffle ticket to win a free beer (from experience, I can attest to the fact that it is indeed possible to win).
The quiz has six rounds of questions, including a picture round where you guess the identities of depicted personalities. Questions are mostly based on topics of general knowledge such as music, geography, history, filmography and culture.
The pub quiz at Fiddlers is guaranteed to be an incredible night. Since the event tends to be well-attended, I suggest you to arrive earlier than 20:30 to save a table for your team.
For more information on the pub quizzes, you can check out both The Fiddler’s website and Facebook page. Some of the upcoming quiz evenings will be on 22 May, 5 June and 19 June. Don’t forget to mark your calendars!
Did you know that O’Caseys is one of the Netherland's biggest sports bars? The bar can screen up to 11 different games at the same time! In the summertime, it is also possible to watch a game outside in the beer garden. As an Irish pub, O’Caseys offers a menu of different Irish delicacies, including a variety of beers, ales and ciders on drought.
O’Caseys also hosts different monthly events and themed evenings. These include open mic nights, Eurovision screenings and most importantly... pub quizzes! As the longest running trivia night in The Hague, the pub quiz at O’Caseys is very well known! It occurs every Thursday at 20:30. Teams of up to six people can compete for a small fee of €5,00. For table reservations, you can either call the bar or book a table directly on the O’Caseys website.
Chances are you have also been to Milú before. Personally, I like to go there on Wednesday evenings for their €5,00 cocktail nights. Located near the ‘Grote Kerk’, Milú is right in the center of town. The restaurant prizes itself for its unique selection of speciality beers and international cuisine. The culinary concept at Milú revolves around sharing and tasting different small international dishes. It is a culinary experience shared with others.
Milú also hosts monthly Pubquiz & Burgers Nights. In order to book a table for your team, you need sign up via firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate whether any of your team members are vegetarian. For teams who do not wish to sign up for the burger night in advance, participation will depend on the remaining availability on the night The evening begins with burgers from 18:30-19:45 and then the quiz at 20:00.
The next Pubquiz & Burgers Night will be on 21 May! So hurry up and make sure to sign up your team!
